Every journey to birth and parenthood is unique, and that is the beauty of it! I welcome all birth settings, whether you are interested in an unmedicated birth or plan on using medical pain management. I support you and your family by connecting you to evidence-based information, exploring your birth preferences and options, and providing practical advice and tools throughout the process. I listen to your needs, meet you where you are at, and help explore your strengths as well as fears. I will be there if labor and birth deviates from your desired plan and you have to adapt from your birth preferences. I am here to make your transition into parenthood as smooth and joyful as possible.
A birth doula provides physical, emotional, and informational support, before, during and after labor and birth. A doula is a non-medical trained birth professional who provides calmness, comfort, and encouragement throughout the birthing process. This is especially important since medical providers may not be able to address your non-medical needs as they rotate through shifts and look after other patients - a doula is there only for you. Research has shown that birth doulas can improve both psychosocial and obstetric outcomes during childbirth.
As your birth doula, I provide physical, emotional, informational and educational support to you throughout your pregnancy, birth, and immediate postpartum period, and I tailor my services to your needs and birth preferences. I am also there to support your partner and/or other support people to help create the best birth team possible. I want you to feel well cared for and supported during your pregnancy and birth, feel in tune with your instincts, and be fully informed and respected in your choices.

My Philosophy
No two journeys through pregnancy and birth look the same, but everyone deserves to feel safe, supported, respected, and empowered to make decisions for themselves before, during, and after birth. I want women and families to be active decision-makers in their birth journey. I believe in each woman’s instinct to do what is right for her, and I want to help women listen to, follow and advocate for that powerful part of themselves.
